Karel Výborný:

Anisotropic magnetoresistance via Boltzmann equation: scattering rates and beyond

This theoretical talk will concern the calculation of conductivity via Boltzmann equation in case of anisotropic scattering. Some activities aimed at modelling and understanding the origins of the AMR (anisotropic magnetoresistance) in GaMnAs will be reviewed. Refinements of the relaxation-time approximation will then be discussed. It will be shown that scattering rates expressed as integrals over the scattering matrix element (using Fermi golden rule) should be replaced by an integral equation.
